Who we are
Mizizi Magazine is a digital magazine housed at Mycelium Media Colab Cooperative (www.myceliumcolab.com). It is produced by a small regional team of writers, editors, designers and website developers. The intention is to publish stories, research and information that can help scale organic agriculture and agroecology across Africa. www.mizizimag.africa
Data
Data collected on this site is related to number of visitors, PDF downloads, forwarding of stories, read time on stories. No personal data is collected or kept. There is a subscribe option that links to our secure Airtable database. Only the managing editor has access to this database, which is only used to send links to latest issue. The subscription form collects name, email, country information, and a WhatsApp number if that subscription option is preferred. Unsubscribe automatically removes subscriber information from the Airtable.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Who we share your data with
We do not share your data with anyone. As above, subscriber information is kept in a secure Airtable and not on the website itself.
Use of cookies
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Use of content and images
Mizizi Magazine publishes own and submitted stories. Our stories use images that we have consent to use or are stock images. Submitted stories are credited to the organization that submits content and image, and consent for use of images lies with the submitting organization.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
