Share a story with Mizizi

Mizizi Magazine welcomes contributions from regional networks, national bodies and advocacy movements. We also welcome story pitches from writers, journalists and regenerative communicators. We are interested in voices from farming communities, practitioners, researchers and organisations working across food and farming systems.

Typical length ranges from 500-1000 words, depending on format.

Our production timelines

We publish 4 main editions a year and special editions up to 8 times in the year. We work on 6-week production timelines. See deadlines for submission of story ideas below.

Main edition | 16: Edition closed
Main edition | 17 (June/July/Aug): Submission deadline 13 May 2026
Main edition | 18 (Sept/Oct/Nov): Submission deadline 15 August 2026
Main edition | 19 (Dec/Jan/Feb 2027): Submission deadline 15 November 2026.

We curate content for the special editions and will put out a call for content up to two months prior.

We review pitches on a rolling basis. If your idea is a good fit, we will be in touch to discuss next steps within two weeks. Due to volume, we may not be able to respond to every submission.
